Parametric Searching & Configuators

The Product configurator, or product selector is a parametric search engine for your products catalog. This is a search across multiple fields. That allows a customer to view product with the specifications that they choose from a series of drop down boxes. It is like a site search on steroids. Instead of just searching a product catalog for one string, it allows you to drill down through all possible products, to the ones that will fit their criteria.

For example, if a customer is looking for a switch, you could also have them specify the voltage range they are looking for, and the number of contacts, and whether it is AC or DC. The end result of this selection, is a listing of exactly what the customer is looking for, rather than having them search through all of the switches trying to locate the one that fits their specifications.

This can be the difference between the user knowing that you have exactly what they want, and getting their purchase, to loosing them because you don't have an easy method for them to narrow down search results of your products, when your competitor does.
